5. Cambium

This is a picture of a fallen tree trunk. Cambium is a cylinder of meristematic tissue that is found in woody plants. There are two types of cambium, vascular and cork. This is a picture of the vascular cambium. Vascular cambium helps in the growth of both the secondary phloem and xylem. The secondary xylem causes the growth rings that can be seen and the secondary phloem increases the diameter.
